The Fortnight is 25, "a quarter of the age of cinema," as Denys Granier-Deferre, president of the SRF, writes in the catalogue foreword.
To mark the occasion, a special Fipresci prize is given to the Directors Fortnight for the "enthusiasm and the consistency of a program open to world cinema as well as the pioneering spirit embodied by Pierre-Henri Deleau and his team, which has so enriched the Cannes Film Festival".
Publication of the "Cinéma en liberté" album to celebrate the Fortnight's 25th anniversary. The foreword is by Jeanne Moreau.
