The Fortnight in Action
Sponsored by Agathe Bonitzer
The Fortnight in Action is a nationwide initiative of cultural access and visual arts education organized by the Directors’ Fortnight. The aim is to share cinema with those who have little access to it.
The broader ambition is to encourage reflection and discussion about films, involve the participants in collective workshops where they can meet film professionals, and have them participate in the Cannes Film Festival, all within the framework of democratizing culture.
Reducing the accessibility gap for cultural activities is key to fighting the exclusion of a segment of the population. Culture isn’t a luxury, it is essential to our fulfillment, it helps us live together. We have a duty to share it and to make it accessible to everyone.
