A first: the Fortnight presents a "surprise film": Ken Friedman's Made in U.S.A, in its director's cut - the producer had entirely reedited the film against the director's wishes. The Fortnight programs a panorama of South African independent cinema, with such films as Nadine Gordimer's Choosing for Justice.
