« Getting of Wisdom » est adapté d’un roman australien écrit par une femme et publié en 1910. Lorsque je l’ai lu pour la première fois, c’était en 1954, j’étais lycéen et il était presque tombé dans l’oubli. J’ai été immédiatement séduit par son humour et par son personnage principal Laura, imprévisible, obstinée, capricieuse et pleine de talent. Bruce BERESFORD

Bruce Beresford

Né à Sidney en 1940, Bruce Beresford fut responsable de la production au British Film Institute de Londres pendant cinq ans. Il a réalisé près de 75 films, courts métrages pour la plupart, et quatre longs métrages avant “The Getting of Wisdom” en 1977.
