March 21, first day of Spring, is New Year’s Day in Iran. Razieh, aged 7, dreams of a goldfish for the celebrations, as tradition has it. With help from her brother, she persuades her mother to give her her last note, and runs to buy it. In the crowded streets of the big city, she loses her money. But her search will get her to meet new people and live amazing adventures.

Director

Jafar Panahi

He was born in Iran. He graduated at the College of Cinema and TV of Teheran, in direction. He made various short documentary films and was assistant director on Le Poisson de Kambuzia Partovi and on Au travers des oliviers, by Abbas Kiarostami. Badkonak-E Sefid is his first feature film.
