Stephen Gyllenhaal
He was born in Pennsylvania. He studied at Trinity College in Hartford where tehere was no cinema department; he used to go to Yale although he wasn’t student there and borrow equipment; this way he made his first films. In 1972, he became a production assistant for a documentary Broken Treaty at Battle Mountain; the same time he was a taxi driver by night: he drove a producer he then worked with. He founded his own production company and made a short film, grand prize at the American Film Festival. He settled in Los Angeles and directed and produced TV shows and dramas nominated or awarded at Emmy Awards. Paris Trout is his second feature film.
