Born in Sweden in 1925, Maï Zetterling studied acting at the Dramaten of Stockholm from 1942 to 1945, and then worked for its permanent company. She started working for the cinema in 1941, worked for Ingmar Bergman and began an international career in London and the United States.
In the 1960’s, she worked as a director for the BBC and directed her first short films, then her first long feature in 1964, « Alskande Par ».
She died in London in 1994.
