Hong Sangsoo

Born in 1960, he made his film studies at Choongang University in Seoul, California College of Arts and Crafts and Art Institute of Chicago. Since his second film The Power Of Kangwon Province premiered at Un Certain Regard section of Cannes in 1998, Hong Sangsoo has the reputation of one of the most promising Korean filmmakers. In recent years, he has focused more exclusively on filmmaking, while also lauching his own production company Jeonwonsa in 2004.
