Frank Shields
He started direction with a team making reports during war in Rhodesia. In 1970, after a while traveling all over the world, he wrote the screenplay of The Breaker, a documentary he directed in 1973. He was an assistant director on a feature film, The Golden Cage. He then made a short film, The Crossing, nominated for an Oscar. He was a cameraman, an actor and directed his first full length film in 1983: Hostage was a great success in Australia. He produced a serie of documentaries and directed a drama in 1980. He wrote two books and made screenplays of Saturday’s Hero, The Breaker, The Outsider, The Wager, Jo, The Hostage, and Stocker’s Boys.
