Charles Lane
He was born in New York. In 1973, he decided to study cinema; he attended lectures by Williard Van Dyke, Aram Avakian and Jospeh Anthony. In 1977, he directed his first short film, A Place in Time, a satirical movie in black and white based on the Kitty Genovese case; he won a Student Academy Award and the film was shown in many festivals all over the world. He worked on vairous screenplays like an adaptation of The Tenant, by Bernard Mlamud, an original version of Sweet Lorraine, directed by Steve Gomer as well as a comedy, Skins that won’t be shooted. He made his first feature film in 1988: Sidewalk Stories.
