Arthur Penn
He was born in Philadelphia. He worked at the Théâtre aux Armées. He entered the experimental school of Black Moutain in 1947. He started working in television as a stage manager and started as an assistant director. He directed TV dramas (Gulf Playhouse, Philco Playhouse, Playhouse 90). In 1958, he made his first feature film, The Left-Handed Gun and stopped working for TV. He has a great carreer in cinema. Arthur Penn directed many successful plays in Broadway.
