Anja Breien
From All Movie Guide: Filmmaker Anja Breien helped Norwegian cinema gain international renown with Hustruer (1975), her response to John Cassavetes’s 1970 film Husbands. In the late 1960s, upon recieving training at the French film school IDHEC, she began making short films. She made her feature film debut with Voldtekt (1971) a film that chronicled a rape case from the rapist’s view. Breien is noted for her ability to work in many different genres from everything to Ibsenian dramas to thrillers.
