For over fifty years, the Directors’ Fortnight has been a cornerstone of the Cannes Film Festival, setting the standard for international arthouse cinema with its commitment to boldness, independence, and artistic freedom. From Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola to Jim Jarmusch, Chantal Akerman, Bong Joon Ho, Takeshi Kitano, Claire Denis, Werner Herzog, Alain Guiraudie and Hou Hsiao-Hsien, some of the biggest names have presented films and launched their careers here. Now, with Les Carnets de la Quinzaine (Notes from the Directors’ Fortnight), this annual event finds a new incarnation in book form. Featuring interviews with filmmakers from each year’s line-up, plus exclusive working visuals provided by the directors them selves, this work o  ers a unique showcase of cinematic creativity across genres and borders, for a fascinating portrait of a particular cinema and its era.
