Last Grave At Dimbaza

Quinzaine 1974 | Feature film | 53 mn

« Last Grave At Dimbaza » was illegally shot in South Africa. The crew took huge risks since the exposure of the apartheid is severely punished there.
The film describes how the latest measures taken destroy purposely the black population’s family structure in order to annihilate them. That’s how overpopulated slums are created for the exclusive use of black male workers whose wives, children and older parents are regrouped hundreds of kilometers away, in extremely isolated camps.
This film is a report from which all pointless verbal and pictorial violence has been intendedly withdrawn. The indictment is no less harsh, though. Among other things, the support of multinational companies and western governments to the apartheid is obvious.
