Sheila Graber
Sheila Graber gained an NDD in Fine Art at Sunderland Art College. She and her pupils could get their hands on paint, clay, wood, metal and finally, in 1970, Animated Movies. In 1980 she gave up her post as Head of Creative Studies at a large Comprehensive School to pursue animation on a full-time professional basis. Creating over 60 shorts and 3 series for World TV.? With Jen Miller, the Limited Company was set up in 1996.? Her short films were shown worldwide. From 1980 she began working full time in animation-evolving her craft in such London Studios as Filmfair and running animation Classes in Tunisia and Caracas. She won an Alumni Fellowship from Sunderland University in 1998 for « Outstanding services to Education and Art ».She is currently running a series of weekly art and animation classes for adults with special needs for the « Brothers of Charity » in Waterford. Sheila is now a Visiting Professor at the University of Sunderland and she wrote a book/interactive CD « Animation a Handy Guide » published by A & C BLack (linked to Bloomsbury Books) in 2009.
