Cigarette at Night

On his way home a boy rests to smoke his last cigarette. Perhaps reflecting on the night’s earlier activities, an atmosphere at once eerie and yet familiar takes hold. A place where serenity and anxiety seem equally present.

Hopkins’ debut feature Better Things premiered at Cannes Critics Week 2008, going on to win both SIGNIS & FIPRESCI awards internationally. His short films had previously won over 30 awards. Solo gallery show Sunday was exhibited in UK & Japan in 2009. Currently preparing feature & gallery work.
