Antoine, a business school graduate, has his future laid out for him. Sooner or later, he will end up succeeding his father at the head of a booming business enterprise. Antoine is bright but he is bored. As a lark, as a challenge, to prove he is not in a rut, he accepts a lead role in a film in preparation. Scandal ensues. The more Antoine commits to the unknown, the more alone and misunderstood he finds himself, torn as he is between his parents’ wounded love and the insatiable passion of the woman directing the film. 
« The idea for the film came when I read Jean-Paul Sartre’s « The Childhood of a Leader ». This is in no way an adaptation but a source of inspiration. What happens when you’ve been programmed since childhood to become a captain of industry like your father? (…) It’s the middle zone between two families, two worlds, two ways of life that interested me because it serves to magnify all of Antoine’s personal problems: his sexual indecision, his guilt feelings, his Christian generosity of spirit confronted with the cruelty of a world he knows nothing about. » (Rodolphe Marconi)
