A alegria
A tale about youth and courage, A alegria tells the story of Luiza ,16 years old, who is just tired of hearing about the end of the world. In a Christmas’ evening, her cousin (João) is shot in a poor neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro city, and disappears in the middle of the night. Some weeks after that, while Luiza is alone in her apartment, the girl will find a mysterious guest waiting for her in the living room: João, as a ghost, asking her to be hidden there.

Felipe Bragança and Marina Meliande are partners since the time they were students in cinema school. Felipe is an awarded short film director who also collaborates with Karim Ainouz (Suely in the Sky) as an assistant-director and scriptwriter. He has also signed scripts for some of the new wave of Brazilian filmmakers, such as Eduardo Valente and Helvécio Marins Jr. Marina is an awarded filmmaker and editor with more than 40 films edited (between shorts, mediums and feature films) and has just been in a two-years résidence laboratory in Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France.
