Vatroslav Mimica

Born in 1925, Vatroslav Mimica studied medecine at Zagreb university. He entered the Yougoslavian National Resistance in 1942, then in 1943 the National Liberation Army. At the end of the war, he is a politic commissioner at the « Matija Gubec » brigade.
After the war, he became literary critic and writer in the literary review « Izvor ». He gets into the film industry in 1950 : after being manager and artistic director for « Jadran Film », he directs and writes screenplays since 1952.
