Hubert-Yves Rose

Hubert-Yves Rose was born in Montreal. He had different jobs while he studied at Montreal University. He graduated in Literature. He had support from The Canadian Council for Arts and from the Ministery of Cutural affairs in Quebec. As a screenwriter, he started in cinema. He also worked as an assistant director; he worked on short films directed by Jean Beaudin. In 1976, he wrote and directed a medium length film, L’Heure bleue. He then worked at Radio-Québec? He was a documentalist, a screenwriter and animator for a serie of TV shows dedicated to cinema; In 1983, he shot a short film, Voyageur, shown in many international festivals. He directed in 1987, his first feature film, La ligne de chaleur, writen with Micheline Lanctôt; he works with her on an adaptation of Jacques Ferron’s novel Les Roses sauvages, as well as another work, Tarzana.
